Le 20 mars 2018, le Conseil de l’Union européenne a adopté des directives de négociation autorisant la Commission européenne à négocier une convention instituant un tribunal multilatéral chargé du règlement des différends en matière d’investissements.

Le 6 février 2018, l’Institut international pour le développement durable (IISD) et la Conférence des Nations Unies sur le commerce et le développement (CNUCED) ont coorganisé deux ateliers d’une demi-journée sur la manière de mobiliser l’investissement au service du développement durable par le biais des partenariats public-privé (PPP) dans le domaine des infrastructures et des services publics, à Nairobi, au Kenya.

Les trois parties à l’Accord de libre-échange nord-américain (ALENA) ont tenu leurs troisième, quatrième et cinquième cycles de renégociation (Ottawa, 23-27 septembre 23–27 ; Arlington, 11-17 octobre 11–17 ; et Mexico, 17-21 novembre). Le prochain cycle de renégociation de l’ALENA se tiendra du 23 au 28 janvier 2018 à Montréal.
