Trade and Sustainability Hub

IISD's Trade and Sustainability Hub brings together communities and stakeholders from around the world to discuss policy issues at the intersection of trade and sustainable development.

Our Trade and Sustainability Hub is an initiative that seeks to foster dialogue and discussion on how to ensure trade policies contribute to sustainable development. We gather a global community of stakeholders to develop and discuss innovative solutions to challenges we face in reconciling trade, inclusivity, and the environment.

Our events are scheduled to coincide with the World Trade Organization (WTO)’s Ministerial Conferences, which bring together all WTO members to make important decisions on global trade rules. We cover a variety of topics ranging from subsidies reform and environmental trade initiatives, to building more resilient food systems and supply chains.

Our inaugural conference took place from December 1 to 3, 2021, and our second conference took place from June 13 to 15, 2022.
