IISD’s Global Subsidies Initiative will be at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. to discuss opportunities and pitfalls of a transition away from coal mining.
The discussion will focus on the transition in Shanxi, one of China’s three main coal-mining regions, and the lessons China can draw from countries that have undergone the economic and social transition away from coal.
