Today, the Canadian industrial sector uses electricity to power more than 25% of its energy needs. It must ramp this up to 41% by 2050 while simultaneously reducing its total energy consumption. Three focus sectors—manufacturing, mining, and construction—can benefit from off-the-shelf or modified existing technologies to get a head start.
