Gelen Emil Turano
Policy Analyst
Gelen Emil Turano is a policy analyst for two projects, both located in the Philippines: the Emissions Ambition for Sustainable Economies (EASE) in Southeast Asia and Energy is the Key to a Climate Stable Future (EnerKey).
Gelen holds a bachelor's degree in development communication and a master's degree in international studies from the University of the Philippines, as well as a master's degree in environmental sciences and policy from Central European University in Vienna, Austria.
She previously served as a science research specialist at the Climate Change Commission of the Philippines, where she supported technical policy research on climate change adaptation and mitigation, including the development and review of priority climate policies and related initiatives. She also has private sector experience working on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability issues.
