Renewable Energy Subsidies & Fossil Fuel Phase-Out

In 2014, consumption subsidies for fossil fuels were three times more than renewable subsidies. However, a simple comparison does not show the extent to which renewable energy is disadvantaged nor show the opportunities that come with phasing out fossil fuel subsidies.

The event, which was held as part of the ‘Oil & Gas Dialogue’ series of workshops hosted by the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as the report itself, received substantial press coverage and attention from the community of Russian oil and gas experts.
