Suarni Landuma

Policy Advisor

Suarni Landuma is a policy advisor with the Energy Program at IISD, where she focuses on advancing energy transition initiatives in Indonesia, with particular focus on the oil and gas transition and the regulatory frameworks shaping the industry.

Suarni’s expertise lies in renewable energy development, energy policy advisory, and energy market analysis. Prior to joining IISD, Suarni served as Energy Advisor (Commercial) at the Royal Danish Embassy in Jakarta, facilitating collaboration between Indonesia and Denmark on renewable energy projects. She also previously worked at Pertamina New and Renewable Energy, where she contributed to the development of operational strategies for renewable energy projects across Indonesia.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Sebelas Maret University and a master’s degree in renewable energy from the University of Auckland.
