Sicha Alifa Makahekum

Policy Analyst

Sicha is a policy analyst with IISD’s Energy Program. Her work focuses on issues such as sustainable transportation, the power sector transition, and carbon pricing, particularly in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Sicha is experienced in stakeholder engagement within the energy and sustainability sector, working with civil society organizations and key government agencies in Southeast Asia. Before joining IISD, she worked for the Institute for Essential Services Reform climate and energy diplomacy team, where she was involved with Indonesia’s G20 Presidency and ASEAN Chairmanship. She also assisted with research projects on modern energy transition for cooking practices in Indonesia and Cambodia during her internship with the Resilience Development Initiative.

Sicha holds a master’s degree in energy and climate policy from the University of Sussex and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
