Nicolas Delaunay

Director, Strategic Partnerships

Nicolas Delaunay is Director of Strategic Partnerships at IISD. 

Over the last 15 years, Nicolas has held leadership roles at international non-governmental organizations to spur the development and diversification of funding for Rainforest Foundation Norway, the Global Water Partnership, and Emirates Nature-WWF. 

As an independent consultant, he also facilitated strategy processes and various funding-related initiatives for Fairtrade International, the Arab-Development Action Committee (DAC) Dialogue Task Force on Water and Sanitation (a partnership between the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, DAC, and Arab providers of development cooperation), WWF Zambia, and UN-Water, among others. 

Nicolas holds a master's degree in business and finance from the ESCEM School of Business and Management (now the Excelia Business School) in France, and a certificate for the certified expert in climate and renewable energy finance course from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management e-campus. Nicolas, who is based in Oslo, Norway, is fluent in English and French and speaks Norwegian at a beginner level.
