Meizhen Wang

Policy Advisor I

Meizhen Wang is a policy advisor I with the Economic Law and Policy Program.

Before joining IISD, Meizhen served as the political, economic, and public relations officer at the Canadian Consulate General in Shanghai, where she proactively maintained relationships with local interlocutors from political, academic, and non-governmental organizations. She actively led advocacy campaigns for a wide range of issues and provided timely political, economic, and socio-cultural analyses on existing or emerging issues. Before that, she worked as the bilateral relations officer at the British Consulate General in Guangzhou, where she supported the advancement of bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and South China and the operations of the Chevening Scholarship program in South China.

Meizhen holds a Bachelor of Arts in translation from Nankai University and a Master of Professional Studies in conference interpreting from the University of Maryland.

She is based in Montreal, Canada, and speaks Chinese and English.
