Keith Somers recently retired from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, where he served as the site supervisor and biostatistician at the Dorset Environmental Science Centre (DESC). The DESC is the ministry’s centre of expertise on long-term trends in water quality and aquatic ecosystem health of Ontario’s inland lakes. Keith is a graduate of the University of Waterloo (BSc), the University of Toronto (MSc), and the University of Western Ontario (PhD). Keith is currently an adjunct professor at four universities (Toronto, Trent, York and Nipissing) and continues to work with graduate students, academic colleagues and environmental consultants on the application of statistical methods to evaluate the cumulative effects of multiple stressors, biological community resilience, and characterizing biological responses to anthropogenic environmental effects.
