Facundo Calvo

Policy Analyst, Trade and Agriculture

Facundo Calvo is a policy analyst (trade and agriculture) at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) in Geneva, Switzerland. He writes regularly on trade policy and agriculture, World Trade Organization (WTO) agriculture negotiations, and sustainable trade in food and agriculture.

Prior to joining IISD, Facundo worked as an agricultural advisor for the permanent mission of Argentina to the WTO. He was involved in the WTO agriculture negotiations, the monitoring of agricultural policies at the WTO Committee on Agriculture, and the market access for agricultural products negotiations within the context of Brexit and WTO accessions.

Facundo holds a master of laws degree in international economic law and policy from the University of Barcelona (IELPO LL.M.), a master’s degree in international economic relations from the Latin American School of Social Sciences (FLACSO), and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He speaks English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
