Training Workshop on Capacity Development for Inclusive Business Models
This is a three-day workshop in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together farmers and producer organizations to explore the legal and policy dimensions of contract farming and other inclusive business models.
This event is organized by IISD with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and in collaboration with the East African Farmers’ Federation and Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions.
It is a three-day workshop in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together farmers and producer organizations to explore the legal and policy dimensions of contract farming and other inclusive business models. The workshop will be held June 6–8, 2019, and will feature presentations on contract farming in law and practice; the IISD-FAO Model Agreement for Responsible Contract Farming; the Committee on World Food Security’s Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI); and gender considerations in contract farming. The workshop format will include presentations, working sessions and round table discussions.
