This is why this year’s Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas will focus on New Technologies: The future of mining.
The forum is taking place May 8, 2019, in Buenos Aires (in the context of ARMinera 2019) and is co-hosted by the IGF, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Mines Ministries of the Americas Conference (CAMMA).
The participants of the forum will identify actions to mitigate the negative aspects of mining and enhance efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Mining and Sustainability Forum of the Americas is a unique opportunity to engage with government officials from the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) countries to discuss how mining can contribute to sustainable development.
Nuevas Tecnologías: El futuro de la minería en las Américas
Con la rápida adopción de nuevas tecnologías en la minería, el análisis de los impactos laborales, ambientales, sociales y de género del sector nunca ha sido más importante.
Por este motivo, el Foro de Minería y Desarrollo Sostenible de las Américas de este año se centrará en las Nuevas tecnologías: el futuro de la minería.
El Foro tendrá lugar el 8 de mayo de 2019 en Buenos Aires (en el contexto de ARMinera 2019) y está organizado conjuntamente por el IGF, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) y la Conferencia de Ministros de Minería de las Américas (CAMMA).
Los participantes del Foro identificará acciones para mitigar los aspectos negativos de la minería y mejorar los esfuerzos para alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de las Naciones Unidas.
El Foro de Minería y Sostenibilidad de las Américas es una oportunidad única para reunirse con gobiernos de los países de América Latina para discutir sobre la contribución de la minería al desarrollo sostenible.
