[EN/FR] Training Workshop on Investment Treaties: Côte d’Ivoire / Atelier national de formation sur les traités d'investissement : Côte d’Ivoire

This training is designed for approximately 35 representatives from the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, specifically those who are involved in developing, negotiating or implementing investment treaties, as well as those that are engaged in investment promotion.

The training’s objective is to reinforce the technical capacity of government officials as they negotiate these investment treaties. The training will focus on deepening officials’ understanding of such treaties, including their key components and current challenges. The training will also consider related developments in investment treaty negotiations that have been seen at the regional, continental and international levels.

Upon the completion of the training, participants will have deepened their understanding of the challenges in negotiating investment treaties and identified the most problematic provisions of these treaties. Participants will have also explored possible options and next steps that are appropriate for the Côte d’Ivoire context.

Cette formation est destinée à environ 35 représentants du gouvernement ivoirien qui sont impliqués dans l’élaboration, la négociation ou la gestion des traités d’investissement ainsi que la promotion des investissements.

L’objectif direct de cet atelier national de formation est de renforcer les capacités techniques des cadres ivoirien en matière de négociation de traités d’investissement. Il s’agit de leur fournir des connaissances sur les fondements de ces traités, leurs principales dispositions, les enjeux actuels et les développements récents à l’échelle régionale, continentale et internationale   

Au terme de la formation, les participants auront eu la chance de mieux comprendre les enjeux actuels de la négociation des traités d’investissement, d’identifier les dispositions les plus problématiques dans ces accords, d'explorer les options possibles pour la Côte d’Ivoire et de lancer une discussion sur les prochaines étapes.
