Trine Schmidt

Strategic Advisor for Global Strategies

Trine Schmidt is a Strategic Advisor for Global Strategies with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and Advisor to the SDG Lab, a collaboration with UN Geneva, where she manages the Geneva 2030 Ecosystem project. Previously, Trine has held positions as Advisor for Sustainable Development at the Nordic Council of Ministers, facilitating Nordic cooperation for the SDGs, and Associate Expert at the UN Department of Global Communications in New York, strengthening partnerships for the SDGs.

Trine has an interdisciplinary academic background with a Bachelor’s degree from Copenhagen Business School in International Business and Politics, and a Master’s degree from Copenhagen University in Global Development, with a strong focus on sustainable development. She wrote her master’s thesis on climate change adaptation policies in Vietnam. Trine has lived and worked in Vietnam, Ghana, the United States, Denmark, and Switzerland.
