Qi Zheng

Senior Policy Advisor

Qi Zheng is a Senior Policy Advisor and Coordinator for the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) Secretariat International Support Office (SISO) at the Economic Law and Policy Program. In this role, she leads the SISO team in managing international donations and contributions to CCICED.

Qi has more than 13 years of experience in climate change policy, climate governance, and development, working with non-governmental organizations, governments, and international organizations. Prior to joining IISD, Qi was an outreach officer and special assistant to the executive director at the Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative, supporting engagement with governments and intergovernmental organizations on the governance of emerging climate technologies. Before this, as a consultant to the British Climate Change Committee and Chatham House, she coordinated a multi-year UK-China program on climate risk assessment.

Qi holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from the China Agricultural University and a master’s degree in sustainable development and application from the University of Paris-Dauphine and China Agricultural University.

Qi is based in Paris, France, and speaks Chinese, English, and French fluently.
