Mari Pantsar

Dr. Mari Pantsar is an adjunct professor at the University of Helsinki and the Lappeenranta University of Technology. She has extensive experience in cleantech business development. After managing the environmental team for forestry giant UPM, she moved to public and private positions in the cleantech sector. She has led, among other things, the Finnish Cleantech Cluster, the Finnish government’s cleantech strategy program and Sitra’s Sustainability Solutions theme. She has also served on the boards of several cleantech companies. Today she is a member of the board of directors of University of Helsinki and Solwers Plc.
Her areas of expertise include just transition, climate policy, circular economy, biodiversity and nature solutions. As the Director of Sitra, she focused on the systemic transition towards the carbon-neutral circular economy society and developing the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF).
