Heather Jovanovic

Toxicology Research Assistant, IISD-ELA

Heather is a Toxicology Research Assistant at IISD-ELA.

In this role, she has performed developmental deformity analysis on embryo-larval fathead minnows, compiled a review on freshwater fish stocking densities, and participated in sampling for ongoing microcosm and mesocosm experiments.

She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in applied water science from Wilfrid Laurier University and is working on completing a Master of Science in environment and geography at the University of Manitoba where she is studying the ecological effects of pharmaceuticals (namely venlafaxine, a commonly-prescribed antidepressant) in freshwater environments.
