UNIDROIT and the ICC Institute of World Business Law convened the 7th session of their Working Group on International Investment Contracts from 27 to 29 October 2025 in Rome, continuing efforts to draft an instrument for investment contracts. The session focused on key issues including contract formation and validity, rights and obligations of investors and host states, applicable law, and stabilisation or renegotiation clauses, while integrating modern concerns such as sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and good‑governance standards. This work aims to provide a template for international investment contracts with the process expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
