Towards an Accountable, Inclusive and Participatory SDG Implementation That Leaves No One Behind

In this interactive event, we will showcase concrete ways to reach the ‘supremely ambitious and transformational’ 2030 Agenda and the pledge ‘that no one will be left behind.’

Stakeholders from across sectors and regions will contribute to the event, demonstrating and reflecting on useful approaches and tools to contribute to ‘the bold and transformative steps which are urgently needed to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path.’

This event will highlight the key learnings and advocacy demands on communities from the Global South. It aims to highlight the importance of ensuring the voices of the most vulnerable populations are heard, counted and included in SDG implementation at sub-national and levels. Illustrated by successfully applied approaches, we will showcase and discuss how locally generated evidence can be used as a complementary source in official SDG monitoring and accountability, helping to inform local and national levels of  planning and decision making to reduce inequalities and fight local drivers of vulnerability and marginalisation.

In this spirit, the meeting will demonstrate concrete ways forward to establish a strategic working partnership between duty bearers and civil society, jointly working towards a successful SDG delivery that leaves no one behind.
