Lauren Timlick

Environmental Technician, IISD-ELA

Lauren Timlick is an environmental technician with IISD Experimental Lakes Area. 

She previously worked at the world’s freshwater laboratory as a fish biology and toxicology research assistant, where she performed sample collection by angling, trap netting, seine netting and gill netting, as well as sample processing and dissection.

Her research background is diverse and has included work on subsurface hydrology in the prairies, geochemistry of traditional carving stone in Nunavut, and the effects of climate change on the optics of freshwater. Lauren is currently working on her master’s degree in environmental science at the University of Manitoba where her research is focussed on the effects of oil spills on smallbodied freshwater fish.
