The Training Workshop on Trade, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development will be held in Beijing, China, from October 29 to 31, 2003. It will assemble participants from central government departments (including the State Environmental Protection Administration, the Ministry of Commerce, economics and trade, development and planning, and other relevant departments such as agriculture and forestry among others); experts from academic institutions in Beijing and the other provinces; and participants from provincial governments. It is also anticipated that others, particularly from the private sector, will participate in the workshop.

The Training Workshop on Trade, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development is co-organized by the State Environmental Protection Administration, China (SEPA); IUCN Regional Environmental Law Programme, Asia (IUCN, Asia); the International Institute for Sustainable Development, Canada (IISD); and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development, Geneva (ICTSD).
