UNCTAD16 to Be Hosted in Geneva
The UNCTAD secretariat has announced that it will host the 16th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16) in Geneva in October 2025. The conference will bring together heads of state, trade ministers, investment policy-makers, and international organizations to address challenges facing the global trade and investment systems. Key agenda items include sustainable investment, digital trade, climate-aligned economic policies, and the future of global supply chains. The selection of Geneva underscores Switzerland’s central role in multilateral economic diplomacy and UNCTAD’s enduring relevance as a forum for developing and developed countries to shape international trade and investment governance.
