UNCTAD Launches Database on Investment Facilitation
UNCTAD has launched a new global database dedicated to investment facilitation. The database offers detailed, comparative information on national policies and practices designed to attract and retain sustainable investment. It compiles best practices from around the world, enabling policy-makers to benchmark and refine their frameworks. It covers measures such as streamlining business entry procedures, enhancing aftercare services, and strengthening investor–state communication mechanisms. By making this information publicly available, UNCTAD aims to promote transparency, foster policy learning, and inform evidence-based decision making. This initiative is part of a broader push to reframe investment facilitation as a development-oriented agenda, complementing ongoing WTO discussions on the subject.
