Freshwater Expert Explains Algal Blooms to Three Age Groups

Hi there! My name is Scott Higgins and I am a freshwater scientist at IISD Experimental Lakes Area—the world’s freshwater laboratory—based in Canada.

Algal blooms plague our freshwater supplies around the world, but they can be difficult to grasp depending on how much you understand about ecology and science.

That is why I set myself the task of explaining them to a grade four student, a high school student and a colleague.
