New SAVi Assessment on Ecosystem Services Provided by Sardinian Wetlands

Our latest SAVi assessment looks at the ecosystem services generated from restoring two wetland areas in the province of Oristano, Sardinia. These are known as S’Ena Arrubia and Corru S’Ittiri-Marceddì-San Giovanni, respectively.  It finds that EUR 306 million could be generated from 2020-2060 due to these ecosystem services. Our analysis also finds that such benefits could be even greater, depending on the conditions of the wetlands going forward. We consider as well the benefits derived from the reuse of agricultural waste, along with other interventions.

The full SAVi analysis is available on the IISD library. Further details can also be found on our dedicated project page.
