UNCTAD Announces Qatar as Host of the 9th World Investment Forum 2026
The 9th World Investment Forum (WIF 2026) will be hosted by Qatar in 2026, following the announcement at the 16th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva. WIF 2026 is expected to convene governments, international organizations, investors, and global business leaders to address emerging investment and development challenges. The forum will focus on strengthening sustainable and resilient investment frameworks amid global economic uncertainty, climate pressures, and rapid digital transformation, while building on outcomes from UNCTAD’s Business Leaders Dialogue and aligning with broader UN initiatives such as the Summit of the Future. By hosting the event, Qatar aims to position itself as a leading destination for international investment dialogue, committing to an inclusive and action-oriented platform that advances global cooperation on sustainable finance, development-oriented investment policy, and private-sector mobilization.
