Dimple Roy

Director, Water Management

Dimple Roy is the Director of Water Management at IISD, where she leads innovative global water policy research and directs the Natural Infrastructure for Water Solutions (NIWS) initiative in Canada. In these roles, she advocates for sustainable water governance, agriculture, and climate adaptation to enhance water security.

Dimple collaborates with provincial and federal agencies to develop effective programs and strategies for water management. She also serves on several boards and committees focused on improving water systems.

With over 20 years of global experience, Dimple has successfully enabled natural infrastructure projects in Canada, analyzed irrigation subsidies in India, and advised scientific networks in the African Great Lakes. Her work is driven by a commitment to fostering evidence-based decision-making that incorporates economic, social, and environmental factors in water management.
