Ivetta Gerasimchuk

Lead, Sustainable Energy Supplies

Based in Geneva, Ivetta Gerasimchuk is responsible for the producer subsidies activities of the Global Subsidies Initiative as well as for developing IISD’s evolving Arctic Initiative. Her research and outreach projects have covered fossil-fuel and biofuel subsidies reform in both producer and consumer dimensions. Ivetta has also worked on taxation of extractive industries, environmental fiscal reform, economics of climate change mitigation and adaptation, and sustainability of international investment flows with a focus on emerging market economies. Before joining IISD, she conducted policy-oriented research and project work as senior advisor and head of the trade and investment program for WWF-Russia and leading research fellow at the Institute for Natural Resource Economics and Environmental Policy of the Higher School of Economics in Moscow as well as research associate at a number of other organisations in Russia and abroad.
