On Monday October 27, 2020 experts met at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) meeting. Expert consensus was that the estimated EUR 312 billion to be invested by OECD countries in green technologies for COVID recovery is not enough.
Moreover, experts asserted that there has not been enough information on how countries plan to spend this money. Experts articulated that recovery plans need to be backed by evidence-based approach in order to be successful. However, science-based policy formation has lost a public trust in recent years. This may be a challenge when trying to implement ambitious recovery plans.
