The\nInternational Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) organized an event\nabout financing nature-based infrastructure on October 11, 2019, as part of the\nBuilding Bridges Week event series in Geneva. Among other topics, the panel\ndiscussed the role of catastrophe bonds, resilience bonds, tax increment\nfinancing and sustainability impact bonds in financing nature-based assets. The\nimportance of valuing the infrastructure services which nature provides also\ncame up frequently during the subsequent discussion. This is an area where SAVi\nhas an important role to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At a separate event during the\nsame week, IISD was also asked to give a keynote presentation to a group of\ninvestors on the future of sustainable investing. With the help of SAVi, more governments\nunderstand now the cost of environmental and social externalities of\ninfrastructure projects. This will lead to more ESG regulation, which will have\nan effect of valuation of companies and projects with large negative ESG\nfootprints.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
