Tawakalit Lawal

Tawakalit Lawal is a payroll and total rewards specialist based at IISD’s Winnipeg headquarters. Before joining IISD, Tawakalit worked as a payroll specialist in both Canada and Nigeria. Her prior roles include payroll-focused positions at Winnipeg-based companies, such as Shared Health and Melet Plastic and at the Nigeria-based Demabis Nigeria Limited. In addition to her payroll experience, Tawakalit’s areas of expertise include benefits administration, tax law compliance, and data compiling and verification. Tawakalit holds a bachelor's degree in education from the Tai Solarin University of Education and is in the process of obtaining the payroll compliance practitioner certification.
