Catherine Burge

Senior Communications Officer

Catherine Burge is a Senior Communications Officer for the Resilience program. Her responsibilities also include managing communications for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network.

She strategizes the program’s communications and uses storytelling to highlight the crucial need for climate change adaptation and its relation to peacebuilding in national contexts. She connects IISD's work with policymakers and climate action leaders, as well as broader audiences interested in resilience.

Her work also includes being the technical lead for virtual webinars, promoting the program’s research and reports, and running the NAP Global Network’s social media and website.

Catherine previously worked on the media relations team at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), where she focused on issues pertaining to Canada’s climate change initiatives, such as the Low Carbon Economy Fund (LCEF), as well as findings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change special reports. More recently, she worked on ECCC’s issues management team.
