Catherine Burge

Communications Officer

Catherine Burge is the Communications Officer for the Resilience program and manages the communications for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network.

She uses creative storytelling to highlight the importance of climate change adaptation and its relation to peacebuilding in national and international contexts. She connects IISD's work with policymakers and climate action leaders as well as broader audiences interested in resilience. Catherine was previously a spokesperson on the media relations team at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), where she focused on issues pertaining to Canada’s climate change initiatives, such as the Low Carbon Economy Fund (LCEF), as well as findings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change special reports. More recently, she worked on ECCC’s issues management team.
