Blaine Favel

An accomplished entrepreneur, policy advisor, public advocate and educator, Mr. Favel has devoted much of his 30-year career to building bridges between Canada’s Indigenous communities, industries, and government. A prominent member of the Poundmaker Cree Nation, he has served as Chief of both the Poundmaker Nation and the 74-nation Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations (now the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations). Merging the ethics of public good with innovative business development strategies, Mr. Favel has founded numerous companies in the agricultural and energy industries involving significant Indigenous participation. With a diversity of experience in the public and private sector, he brings a uniquely broad perspective on the complexities of governance and economic development.
