According to Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis, responsible for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union, the objective is to investigate whether to set up a dispute settlement framework \u201cto save time and money both for <span class='tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips117'>EU<\/span> investors and national authorities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The consultation seeks to collect evidence on the need for such framework, its desirable characteristics and the need for greater clarity on the rights of EU investors. Among the policy options envisioned in the consultation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/initiative\/40060\/attachment\/090166e5b3fb3f49_en\">Inception Impact Assessment<\/a> are establishing a network of \u201cInvestment Contact Points,\u201d an EU legal framework for mediation, and permanent mediation agencies in each member state.
