Building on the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts, the draft attempts to <a href=\"https:\/\/iccwbo.org\/news-publications\/news\/icc-and-unidroit-launch-public-consultation-for-international-investment-contracts\/\">address<\/a> contractual investor protections alongside sustainability-related obligations at the contract level. This is the first time the text has been exposed to stakeholders beyond the Working Group. <span class='tooltipsall tooltipsincontent classtoolTips32'>IISD<\/span> has published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iisd.org\/publications\/brief\/sustainable-development-unidroit-icc-investment-contracts\">brief<\/a> urging governments, civil society, project-affected communities, and academics, particularly from developing and emerging economies, to engage in the consultation and anchor sustainable development in the final text.
