Today these tiny particles with anti-microbial properties are being used in a wide range of consumer products. The problem with nanoparticles is that we don\u2019t fully understand what happens when they are released into the environment.<\/p>\n<p>The research at the IISD-ELA will look at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iisd.org\/ela\/current-research\/nanosilver\" data-cke-saved-href=\"http:\/\/www.iisd.org\/ela\/current-research\/nanosilver\">the impacts of nanosilver on ecosystems<\/a>. What happens when it gets into the food chain?
