"The family of Dr. Michael Paterson and Gail Asper announced Thursday, Sept. 6 in Kenora at the Whitecap Pavilion they would match, up to $1 million any donations to the IISD-ELA – the world’s freshwater laboratory – in northwestern Ontario. The matching donation helps celebrate 50 years of research at the IISD-ELA and goes towards establishing an endowment fund to secure the next 50 years of the site."
