Why we should be concerned about antidepressants in our environment

In an opinion piece for the Toronto Star, Matthew McCandless explains why, with increased used of antidepressants in Canada, we need to know more about what happens when they end up in our environment.

Antidepressants are a lifesaver for millions of people around the world. And here in Canada, we are certainly no stranger to their benefits — in fact, we often figure among the most common users of antidepressants in the world.

As a result of global lockdowns and curfews, at home and across the pond, our dependence on these drugs has increased substantially.
