Virginia is currently working as a wind and solar energy project developer at EDP Renewables North America. Prior to joining EDPR, she worked as a Thematic Expert with IISD’s SDG Knowledge Hub and interned with Renewable Northwest and IISD’s Global Subsidies Initiative. Her research and writing with these organizations have covered a wide range of climate change and energy policy issues. Virginia has also worked in public diplomacy in the Bureau of International Information Programs at the U.S. Department of State and as a Campus Organizer for the California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) in Los Angeles, training CALPIRG students to organize social and environmental campaigns. Virginia graduated with a B.A. in International Studies from Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT) in 2008 and received her M.A. in International Relations and Economics, concentrating in Energy, Resources, and the Environment, from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) (Bologna, Italy/Washington DC) in 2014.
