HUMAN RIGHTS
What are human rights?
Human rights have been defined as rights and fundamental
freedoms that are the birthright of all human beings. Human rights
recognize that people have a right to determine their political
status and pursue their economic, social and cultural development
and all of these are interdependent.
Much of the work around human rights has been based on the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and in June of 1993 the World Conference on Human Rights developed the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action. The following is a summary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights:
