The Provinces and Territories of Canada: Round Tables, Commissions and government departments.

We have listed here a number of departments and agencies working on environment and sustainable development policies and plans. We have provided lists of publications from provincial round tables, available in IISD's Information Centre; and links to other relevant provincial bodies on the Internet. Last updated in 1996.

British Columbia

  • Ministry of Evironment, Lands and Parks Note in particular the Environmental Protection Compendium (statutes, standards, policies, guidelines, etc.) and GIS information, including useful links to GIS sites on the Internet

Alberta

Manitoba

  • Manitoba Round Table on Environment and Economy List of selected publications. The Manitoba Round Table is one of the last of the fully active, operational provincial round tables. The Round table reports to the Premier's office. The work of the Round Table is supported by the Sustainable Development Co-ordination Unit, which coordinates and assists the committees of the Round Table, and ensures that the suggestions of the Round Table are brought to the attention of relevant government departments.
