During the survey process, we asked contributors to identify their areas of interest in sustainable development. Assigning "interest categories" which adequately capture the integrative nature of sustainable development and which reflect at the same time the diversity of our perspectives on the world, is, of course, problematic. Nonetheless, we have attempted to provide a number of indexes according to the interest areas of participants in an effort to help users of this guide to identify women working in similar areas. We hope you will find these indexes of some value; any comments or suggestions on the categories we have chosen would be most welcome.
