About Us

The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) established the Water Innovation Centre (WIC) as a new global knowledge hub for water management. It comprises a team of water experts from its staff, associates and networks. Located at IISD's Head Office in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the Centre's primary focus is the systematic evaluation of water management measures, costs and benefits. WIC's integrated water management policy and practice innovations are designed to have relevance in North America and worldwide.

Established in 1990, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is a non-partisan, charitable organization specializing in policy research, analysis and information exchange. Through our offices in Winnipeg, Ottawa, New York and Geneva, we apply human ingenuity to improve the well-being of the world's environment, economy and society. The Institute engages decision-makers in business, government and non-government organizations and other sectors by creating and implementing policies to benefit the global economy, environment and social well-being.
