The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is an independent, non-profit, non-government research institute, established to provide advice to public, private and voluntary organizations and to undertake policy-oriented research and advocacy on issues of public interest. -
CUTS International (Consumer Unity & Trust Society)—India
Established in 1984, the Consumer Unity & Trust Society (CUTS) started off as a consumer protection organization in Rajasthan, India. Since then, it has been working in several areas of public interest at the grassroots, national, sub-continental and international levels. These activities have now crystallized into five programmatic centres and three resource centres in India, Zambia, Kenya and the United Kingdom, under the umbrella of CUTS International. -
North South University (NSU)—Bangladesh
North South University (NSU), the first private university in Bangladesh, was established by the NSU Foundation with the initiative of a group of philanthropists, industrialists, bureaucrats and academics. NSU’s Department of Economics is one of the most prestigious and intellectually demanding pursuits of knowledge. From its inception, therefore, NSU established the Department of Economics on a sound footing with a set of dynamic academic programs managed by a highly qualified faculty. NSU is committed to building this department as a Centre of Excellence in Economics in South Asia. -
South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics & Environment (SAWTEE)—Nepal
Launched in December 1994 at Nagarkot, Nepal, by a consortium of South Asian non-governmental organizations (NGOs), South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics & Environment (SAWTEE) is a recognized, registered, non-profit and non-governmental organization. Its mission is to enable South Asian communities to benefit from and minimize the harms of changing regional and global economic paradigms. It currently operates as a regional network through its secretariat in Kathmandu and 11 network institutions from five South Asian countries, namely, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
