IISD in Bali for COP 13/ MOP 3
Over 20,000 negotiators, observers and members of governments and NGOs are now gathering in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, for the 13th Conference of the Parties (COP 13) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the third Meeting of the Parties (MOP 3).
The meetings are expected to largely focus on developing a road map and timeline for negotiating the design of the international climate regime that will follow the Kyoto Protocol period of 2008 to 2012.
The International Institute for Sustainable Development's teams are active on the ground in Bali.
Staff and associates of IISD's Climate Change and Energy programs are hosting, supporting and participating in a number of side-events and activities. Please go to IISD's COP 13 page for information about each event.

IISD's vision is better living for all—sustainably. In order to achieve this vision the IISD has both created and participated in numerous "knowledge networks," both in the virtual world and in the real one. Connections between people all over the world allow the IISD to conduct the research it needs to foster sustainable thought and action. But one of the most important connections the IISD can foster is communication with the most influential of all, the global media.
With this in mind, we have designed this Media Room to provide users with ready access to sustainable development information and the most current research emerging from the institute.
Voted as "The world's most effective sustainable development research organization" by GlobeScan, IISD's project managers and associates can assist journalists in their efforts to educate and empower world citizens. From issues as diverse as economic trade and policy to natural resources management and climate change, IISD can answer your questions about the critical development issues facing the globe today.
