Sustainable Public Procurement: Towards a low-carbon economy (PDF - 1.2 mb)
IISD/TERI collaboration continues in the India SPP project, which investigates how early SPP policies and actions could be designed. The project will include a detailed review of national procurement procedures and practices and study the feasibility of using the India Bureau of Energy Efficiency - Energy Conservation Building Codes (ECBC) as a preliminary entry point. The primary objective is, however, to engage and consult with public sector organizations, public sector undertakings (majority state-owned enterprises), key suppliers to the public sector and other stakeholders to introduce SPP, discuss its business case and identify options for the design and delivery of early SPP efforts in India.

Preliminary stakeholder consultations will also be undertaken to introduce SPP, discuss its business case and identify options for the design and delivery of early SPP efforts in South Africa.
