The focus is on employment or volunteer opportunities in environment and sustainable development, both in Canada and internationally.

Human Resources Development Canada's National Youth Internet Site
Provides information on HDRC-sponsored programs and youth initiatives including Canadian and international internships. Also includes a listing of human resources centres in Canada for students as well as employment searching techniques, including job hunt preparation and interviewing skills.
Industry Canada's National Graduate Register
Allows students and recent graduates to submit their resumé on-line where thousands of potential employers can get access to and consult resumés. Free of charge and provides access to a variety of topics including employer profile and internship information.
Job Futures
Government Web site on almost every occupation in Canada and examines future job growth, education and training requirements and earnings. The site also indicates how many young people are hired and employed in each occupation.
Rural Youth Employment Network
A terrific resource for rural youth of all ages seeking volunteer positions or employment. Registration to the site is free and it includes an interactive resumé builder and a job database.
Youth Resource Network of Canada
This site provides links to provincial, national and international job resources in Canada. Also provides comprehensive job search techniques including resumé and letter writing and interview tips.
Canada WorkInfoNet
This is an excellent site containing job links and information on recruiting, career planning, training and qualifications, the labour market, financial help and more.
Career Internetworking
Canadian networking resource for professionals and technical individuals seeking employment opportunities in Canada. Includes resumé writing techniques and a job bank.
GLOBEcareers Canada's National Career Site
Provides free, current career and work-related resources and interactive tools. Search job postings that match your qualifications and the results are e-mailed back to you.
Human Resources Development Canada
General job listings are categorized by occupation, job title, and location. Available in French and English.
Monster Board Canada
This Canadian site includes employer profiles, personal job search agents and resumé agents, with French and English versions. Users can also link to sister sites in the USA, Australia and the UK.
Public Service Commission of Canada
The PSC provides a listing of government jobs open to the public, information on the Federal Student Work Experience program and post-secondary recruitment.
Work Search
Interactive bilingual site that covers every step of the career-planning process including an on-line job search feature.
Career Mosaic
This resource provides industry-specific job listings for the US and international opportunities as well as information on how to fine-tune your resumé. Features cover letters and electronic & print resumés.

A job bank that can be searched by country, state or province, salary range, and career type.
Weekly Contract Employment
Jobs for engineering, IT/IS and technical personnel with a job database that is updated every 60 minutes. Also includes free resumé and cover letter writing pointers along with samples of various resumé formats.

AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc.
An international, voluntary, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
AIESEC International
AIESEC (pronounced eye-sec) is the world's largest student-managed, non-profit educational organization dedicated to helping young people around the globe develop themselves and their countries. Their focus is on developing individuals by involving mainly business, economics and IT students in unique international exchange programs and related projects.
Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
CIDA funds up to 850 internships in international development for young Canadians. Interns will be placed for six months to a year (including up to six months abroad) with one of CIDA's partners in both the private and not-for-profit sectors.
Career Edge
This is a national, not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to enhance youth employability. The program is aimed at graduates of university, college and high school who have finished their education but who lack career-related work experience. Offers six-, nine-, or twelve-month paid internships in one of the program's host organizations.
Council on International Exchange
A listing of international programs for study abroad, work abroad and volunteer work from three to six months.
Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT)

Institute for Leadership Development (ILD)
ILD is a UN global partnership program whose purpose is to enhance the development of leadership skills in young professionals from Canada and around the world. ILD organizes professional skills enhancement programs, international work placements, communications linkages and global leadership forums.

A project of Action Without Borders, this site provides information on non-profit associations, jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities.
intern-net
This site lists internship opportunities in the environmental field. Users can subscribe to receive a monthly newsletter with new intern listings.
International Computing Center
The United Nations International Computing Center (ICC) has a limited number of places for final year or recently graduated students specializing in information technology.
International Development Research Centre
IDRC offers approximately 12 internship positions each year to Canadians citizens, or permanent residents of Canada or citizens from developing countries who have completed or a about to complete a Master's program. The positions are between 4 and 12 months in duration. The annual deadline for applications is September 12. These internships are designed to provide hands-on learning experiences in research program management - in the creation, dissemination and utilization of knowledge from an international perspective.
International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD)
As part of the Canadian government's Youth Employment Strategy, IISD sponsors a career-enhancing placement program to send Canadian youth to international business councils, trade organizations and sustainable development institutions. Participants spend 6 to 8 months in the host organization and use Internet technologies to deliver research and practice from around the world to global audiences.
Peace Corps
This American organization has been fighting hunger, disease, illiteracy, poverty and lack of opportunity around the world since 1961. Volunteers are needed to work in agriculture, education, forestry, health, engineering, and skilled trades, business, the environment, urban planning, youth development, and the teaching of English for commerce and technology.
World University Services Canada (WUSC) WUSC is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose mission is to foster sustainable human development and human rights through education and training, active and participatory research into development issues, and internationally oriented programs. WUSC enables volunteers, professionals, and students to participate in development activities and projects in Canada and abroad.
Youth Challenge International (YCI)
YCI is a non-profit organization that combines community development, health work, and environmental research in adventurous projects conducted by international teams of volunteers aged 18 to 25 years. A worldwide network of Youth Challenge organizations operates in Canada, Costa Rica, Australia and Guyana, South America.
