Directory of International Work Experience and Educational Opportunities for Youth
The purpose of this directory is to inform youth between 18 and 30 years of age from Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden and the United States of America of the work experience and educational opportunities open to them in the circumpolar region. We hope to encourage youth to gain international experience, which will not only benefit them in terms of increasing their work experience and skills and augmenting their academic careers, but will also provide benefits to their homelands and host countries. By increasing the mobility of youth within the circumpolar region, greater understanding of issues common to member countries of the Arctic Council, particularly in the area of sustainable development, can be realized.
This document represents a preliminary survey of the opportunities available to youth in the circumpolar region; other work experience and education opportunities no doubt exist. Much of this information was derived through a comprehensive Internet search, often followed by direct contact with the identified organizations. Efforts have been made to ensure the authenticity of the directory's content. However, the information it contains is not guaranteed to be accurate. Interested individuals are advised to contact the identified organizations directly for more information about the programs they offer.
